Pointy Shoes. Going to foolish lengths for fashion.IN 1463, LONDON OUTLAWED THE shoes of its fanciest men. These dapper lords had grown ridiculous in their dapperness, and had taken to ambling streets shod in long, carrot-shaped shoes that tapered to impish tips, some as long as five inches beyond the toe. 

These shoes were called “crakows” or “poulaines

A shoe or boot with an extremely elongated, pointed toe, worn in the 14th and 15th centuries.

Gothic jester schoes appeared mainly in England and France. Their occurrence in Central Europe is limited.

"schnabelschuh" was a matter of rather upper class society, as shown by archaeological excavations near London. This fact is confirmed by countless period drawings of shoes in the 14th and 15th centuries, in which these shoes were worn only by the rich upper classes.
